One Chair, Two Looks!
During a long, cold winter, often our thoughts turn to making over our interior spaces, or at least that is what happens to me.
Since, most of us can’t change larger furniture pieces whenever we feel like it, how about mixing things up with a few smaller things? Keep the larger and more expensive items and just switch up the accessories. As an interior decorator I am a big advocate of choosing neutral on pricier large scale furniture, that way you can mix and match to your hearts content.
For this exercise, I’ve chosen Wicker Emporium’s Bergen Retro Wingback chair in beige, to show you how to take this same basic but beautiful chair and make two completely distinct spaces, just by using different accessories.
This first look I’m calling, Textured Warmth. Distressed, worn woods, a touch of iron, soft teals and blues in the rug, lamp, basket and pillow, an ivory knitted throw, and a very textured rattan basket work together to create a warm but still relatively calm and light space. If you tire of the blues, remove the rug, pillow and lamp and you’ll have a fresh start to add in another colour.
The next one I’ve called Mixed Metals Glam. Using the same neutral chair but by adding in equal measures of both metallic gold and silver, you get a soft, sophisticated and slightly glamourous feel. The Moorish pattern of the mirror tiles, side table, together with the pierced pendant light, add in some globe trotting inspiration.
So go ahead and change things up for a whole new look!
